I hope all of our members, and their families are managing to stay safe and well during this challenging time.
This is the third lockdown and suspension of training we’ve experienced this year, and each time, we have used the time to grow the club in one way or another.
We’ve established two priorities for the time being:
- Preparing for the implementation of our new system, PushPress. Our new system will streamline how we provide our services, and works alongside our new platforms, such as our customer support platform, FreshDesk.
- Engaging our upper squads in regular activities, both training and social. We acknowledge that it’s imperative that our squads continue to build on the team spirit we pride ourselves in having, particularly in our upper squads.
In everything we do, we want to ensure that we are supporting our Young Athletes and Volunteers, and we acknowledge that the latest lockdown will take a toll on the Mental Health of everyone. We know swimming is great for Mental Health, and we can’t wait to get back to the pool. In the meantime, we are always on hand to support our members and volunteers. If anyone is experiencing difficulties, I’d encourage you to reach out to our Club Welfare Officer, Helen Marriott, by emailing welfare@bwsc.org.uk

Staying fit and active is a great way to not only mind your mental health, but also be ready for returning to swimming. There are some great workouts available at https://www.swimming.org/sport/creating-training-programme/ . If you do give them a go, please share some pictures or videos with us, we’d love to see what you are getting up to!
In the meantime, stay safe, well and active. If you need anything from me, please reach out by emailing James.pugh@bwsc.org.uk
